Oliver Wehrli
Born: 1979
Hometown: Veltheim
Based in: Veltheim
For over 20 years, Swiss fine art landscape photographer Oliver Wehrli has combined photography and nature to create images that speak a silent, mystical, haunting language. He prefers realistic depictions that appear natural and unobtrusive, depicting landscapes unaltered to remind viewers of the beauty of nature without detours via abstraction.
There is no correcting or embellishing in his photography. He goes mainly with an analog large format camera into the deep silence of nature. For him, analog photography represents the reduction of the essential – composing and recording the image. What is seen is captured in its natural, abstract, almost unobtrusive form as the light hits the film through the lens and exposes it.
His landscape photographs have won several international awards, including the 2018 Special Award “Mist & Fog” at the International Landscape Photographer of the Year with the picture “Colorful Rustle of Leaves” or the 2020 IPA International Photography Award for his photograph “Brouillard III”.
The central criterion in Oliver Wehrli’s art prints is the quality of the finished image, the print’s consistency, and its effect on the original image vision. Each art image is printed on selected fine art paper and produced with high-quality in Switzerland.
We don't have any works from this artist at the moment.
