I hold a Bachelor degree in Fine Art RMIT. My paintings are subtle renderings on canvas demonstrating a complex and intriguing expression of Minimalism. I have travelled throughout Asia and have spent four years living in Shanghai (2012-2016). Asian philosophy and aesthetics influence my approach to painting. I have been shortlisted for many art prizes and I have been awarded the Ella Donald Memorial scholarship in my first year at university. I currently work between two studios, one studio in Collingwood, Melbourne and one studio in Shanghai, China.

Peter Summers In The Studio
I’m fascinated by what paint can do on canvas and I fail miserably to describe the pleasure of painting to anyone. Painting for me is about moving the paint with a brush from left to right, up and down. It’s an unknown journey full of little victories and discoveries.
