Rich Moyers is an American interdisciplinary artist currently based in Peoria, Arizona. After studying at various art institutions including the Art Institute of Chicago - Painting, and the University of California, Los Angeles - Major: Studio Arts, Moyers pursued a fine art career, creating principally Modernist / Minimalist Abstract Paintings and 3 Dimensional Constructions.
"Distillations of line, mass, and chromatic luminosity, fill my dynamically infused multi-layered paintings" - Juried Signature Member - I.S.A.P. (International Society of Acrylic Painters)
Moyers' artworks are created in both 2 Dimensional Paintings and 3 Dimensional Relief Constructions. His art is an extensive investigation of space, structure and harmonic balance; while still maintaining a level of active spontaneity within each work. The combination of precise lines and vibrant chromatic illuminations with bold modern minimalist influences are of primary importance.
Uncovering the Foundation of his Art
Moyers begins by seeking the essence of each new work through a process of “pre-visualisation”, wherein his ideas, perceptions and influences are constantly reworked and refined to achieve a symbiotic emotive resonance. This practiced combining of tactile physical stimulation and subconscious energies results in the shapes and patterns seen in Moyers’ works, while he aims to strike a holistic tone between dynamic color and proportional harmonies.
"For more than 35 years, I have been professionally striving to create evermore engaging works. Thoughtful stimulating content forms the basis of my initial explorations, which are brought to fruition by continually refining intuitive suggestions with decades of practiced technical abilities. I'm always striving for the ultimate union of dynamic color and balanced proportional harmonies, which will successfully resonate with the viewer."

I work nearly every day in my studio, all works are done completely by my hand, with special attention to preparing a Quality Archival Surface "Ground" upon which the image will be created.

Describe your creative process.
I begin by seeking the essence of each new work through a process of “pre-visualisation”, wherein random ideas, perceptions and influences are mentally refined to achieve a symbiotic emotive resonant image. This "minds-eye" combining of imagination and subconscious energies results in shapes and patterns which are first sketched in thumbnails, then larger scaled tonal drawings, aiming to strike a holistic tone between dynamic color and proportional harmonies of the primary elements within the picture plane. Then I extensively prepare the Ground over the substrate. Principle elements precisley drawn, Paints and mediums are applied until the Final Finish is Achieved.
