Santi Wangchuan earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Thai Art (second class honors) from the Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University and recently graduated with an MFA in Visual Arts, the Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University, Bangkok. Santi is a weaving artist and is fascinated with the impressive weaving art techniques that allow him to form independent shapes originating from his experiences and surrounding knowledge derived from inherited intellect. In addition, his practice builds an intimate connection and sense of remembrance through the formation of abstract shapes of mixed media Thai art expressing his beliefs, emotions and sentiment through the weaving of distinctive types of thread.

Santi participated in the Young Contemporary Art Camp in Chiang Rai, the 28th Exhibition of Contemporary Art by Young Artists, and the 34th Bua Luang Painting Art Exhibition. In 2012, he was awarded a Bronze Award in painting from the 58th National Exhibition of Art, and took part in the 29th Exhibition of Contemporary Art by Young Artists. His latest art exhibition in which he participated with three friends, “Sense of Local” was held at the Princess Art Gallery, Nakhon Phatom.
