Sassoon Kosian, an award-winning US based Armenian painter and sculptor, has exhibited throughout the United States. Kosian moved to the US about 21 years ago and has been making art professionally in the last 11 years. Kosian attended the Art Students League of New York for informal art training where he studied painting and mixed media art. Later on he shifted his focus to geometric sculpture using various materials including metal, wood, plastic and cardboard.
Kosian’s art relates to the human experience with particular emphasis on experiences that forge us into better people. Kosian begins his artistic process by visualizing the concept through digital blueprints. After having been thoroughly planned out, they make their way onto canvas through acrylics. His sculptural process is more spontaneous and the pieces are imbued with architectonic qualities.
Kosian’s sculptures and paintings have been shown in numerous exhibitions across the US and are held in many private collections across the US and Europe.
