Simao Huang

Huang Simao is a Beijing based Chinese contemporary artist. Not fixed in the past, his works are a pragmatic reflection of the issues facing Chinese society today. Simao's observations translate across borders resulting in international collectors also being able to relate to the themes of humanity evident in his work.

Huang Simao has been working as a full time artist since graduating from Jiangxi Normal University in 1991. His artwork is bought by both domestic and international collectors and investors. Huang Simao is represented by Parkview Green (Caofangdi) in Shanghai, Asan Gallery in South Korea, Sihang Cangku in Beijing and Taiwan and Asart in London. He frequently exhibits at galleries close to where he resides in Songzhuang, 798 and Caochangdi, the three most prominent locations for contemporary art in Beijing. His most recent series of work the ‘Edge of Reason’ is admired for its technical skill and thought provoking imagery.
