I'm Kim Yeongok (Sohwa Yeongok), who majored in painting and challenged various experiments at Hongik University's Graduate School of Art in Korea. I attach the object silk thread to the canvas to explore the texture and light of the thread. These works lead to an artistic sense of light, life, and relationship, leading to the purification and reflection of emotions.
What inspires you?
Communication with people, feeling sunlight, wind, and air in nature, gaining energy and finding happiness in the light-filled nature.
Describe your creative process.
The images of numerous relationships are connected to a fragmented silk thread, and a large mountain is attached to the canvas to express the appearance of various mountains. The process of attaching silk to the canvas is to purify life's reflection and emotions and accumulate time. The textures of the attached yarn can have various visual effects depending on the direction of the light. I hope everyone gets the energy of life in a place full of light.
What are 3 words that best describe your work?
