Tallur L.N. was born in 1971 in Karnataka, southern India. He received BFA in painting in Academy of Visual Arts in Mysore, India in 1996, MFA in Museology in Baroda in 1998, and then MFA in Fine Arts in Leeds Metropolitan University in England, in 2002. A representative artist of the second generation of Indian contemporary artists, Tallur L.N. won the prestigious Skoda Prize, annually awarded to one most prominent artist in India, in 2012, and rose to international recognition as a pioneer of the contemporary art scene in India today. He has shown his work in Shanghai Biennale (2006), Nanjing Triennale (2008), Asia Pacific Triennale (2011), Kochi-Muziris Biennale (2012), and has exhibited in countless art institutions world-wide including National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (2013), SCAD, Georgia, US (2014), and Seoul Museum of Art (2014). Tallur L.N. works and lives in Daegu and India.
