Deeply influenced by architecture and photography, Tamara Haddad started painting during her studies in Advertising Art Direction. After her graduation from Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts ( ALBA ), and due to her passion for art, she devoted herself to painting while still working in advertising and graphic design.
Fascinated by large empty spaces, as well as natural landscapes that she captures with a camera, she gives the landscapes a new dimension with painting. Today, her work is focused on physical transformations that earth is enduring nowadays either caused by natural phenomenas or by mankind actions, showcasing the wounds in every landscape. She uses natural materials, such as sand, bark, pebble, branches…
What inspires you?
Nature, natural landscapes, mountains, rocks, geology, textures, readings about environmental issues.
Describe your creative process.
Working mainly on natural landscapes and environmental transformations, i take insiration from images i take during my trips and hikes in the mountains, plus from documentaries about environment. Then i decide about the subject of the painting i want to work on, focusing on several materials such as sand, pebbles, branches, leaves... everything i can find in nature, besides oil and acrylics.
