“My abstract landscapes are intended to capture a moment in which we want to linger
because the sight, the light, the color or the silhouette of an environment captivates us and
we want to absorb it. My own observation of my works is not about subtleties and details,
but rather I reduce them to shapes, colors and feelings"
The technique is to apply acrylic paint in layers with different degrees of coverage and pre-watering of the canvas as well as pre-watering the acrylic paint.
This allows unique effects - natural, organic color gradients, color bleeding and color transitions - to be created in contrast to
sharp lines and geometric figures.
The organic canvas leaves a matte finish, which reveals a unique surface texture up close and creates a beautiful vintage effect
as the paint sinks into the canvas rather than resting on it.
Colours applied in different degrees of pre-watering of paint and canvas, this results in bleeding colors, flowing color transitions and sharp contours. The background used always requires a certain unpredictability in terms of the color gradient and the edge contours, so that a unique image is always created that reflects the interaction of chance, the physics of the colors and the artist's skill
What inspires you?
Nature, Emotions, colours, memories
Describe your creative process.
I usually start my works with a rough idea of the color spectrum, as I think that the choice of colors creates the first emotional impression of the image and it is the information that we first process and associate with the image. The landscape is created from a rough idea of the silhouette, the surrounding contours emerge over the course of the creative process. Overall, I always try to break up heavy bleeding and soft color transitions with contrasts such as sharp lines or saturated colors
What are 3 words that best describe your work?
expressively, colorful, vintage optic
What is the most important tool when creating your work?
Water, unprimed canvas
Where do you go for inspiration?
I live surrounded by nature which always an inspirational source. My emotions connected to a certain memory and the feelings and want to create while looking at my paintings.
