About the art
Artist statement
I painted this picture during September, and the very apple harvest was just beginning to show. However, it's not only its fruit but also the magical shape that an old apple tree can be, which can remind one of the myths and fairy stories. And I wanted to capture this magic in the painting.
In the garden we have ancient gnarled old trees that have been there for many years; wandering here sometimes makes you feel you are completely lost in time. You can wander along the sunlit tiny paths.
And then there are the clearings. Small areas filled with glorious sunshine where the fruit trees grow. I came across this clearing on a beautiful warm sunny day, deep in the garden. These little trees seemed to drip with stars of bright lime red. Beneath, there was a carpet of apples falling in the long grass.
My inspiration: autumn, where everything produces fruit in nature, the fresh colors of early fall, and the trees full of harvest.
