Artist statement
This mixed-media artwork depicts a goddess of fertility, intertwining contemporary art with alchemy, biology, and surrealism. Drawing from symbolic art and ancestral memory, I use Prismacolor pencils—favored by Judy Chicago—on cardboard and a foam frame that echoes organic, biological forms. The piece is rooted in the archetypal theories of Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell, who observed that in moments of crisis, we access not just personal experience but a vast mythological psycho-system. Just as unicorns may appear in dreams during drastic times, I conjure archetypal goddess-protectors in my art, channeling them in pivotal moments. These figures, born from my own energy, connect me to the deep, ancestral reservoir Campbell described—empowering both the artwork and its beholder.
