Artist statement
Another of the series taken while on a trip to Fiji in which I studied some of my family history and learnt a great deal about the nature of stories. It seems there is no one truth, there are many truths, each of them very convincing for the person or people holding that perspective, no matter how they may differ from each other. This includes my own point of view and how I view others. In taking these photographs I noticed how I tend to look at blossoms. I began to seek another perspective, to show or feature a different part of the story before me, to begin to shift my angle and focus and notice how that changed how I felt and viewed the botanical.
