About the art
Artist statement
My Fragility and Grace series was created in 2020, when Melbourne and Victoria experienced a year of many lockdowns and harsh restrictions. My walks in nature became even more important than previously and that time became so precious. To have fresh air, to be unconfined for a time and to see the beauty of the world in amongst fear and concern for the world around me. In looking to nature, there I saw fragility in life also. It reminded me to accept that fragility with grace - and that we are all weak as well as strong. It also reminded me how strong that life force is within each of us and what a miracle a healthy body is.
