Artist statement
This series of close-up botanical skeletons are inspired by the idea of disappearing. There are so many ways we can be made to disappear. Often such an act stems from grief and trauma. Even in the darkness of such experiences we sometimes find a way to survive that holds beauty and vitality. I want to celebrate that in these images - the elegance and exquisite beauty that can come from survival, even if it emerges from agony.
