Artist statement
Love and Lust in the Time of Corona was painted during the outbreak of the pandemic in March/April 2020. It was a time that I was experiencing a lot of suffering due to going off of my SSRI anti-depressant meditation. I created this painting as a distraction to my anxiety and was able to experience brief moments of joy during the dot painting process.
The colors are my signature gradient hues of blue, purple, and turquoise. The center dot is my favorite part, as it has layers and layers of paint on top of each other, that it creates this powerful three dimensional quality and plays with your senses. It's one of my favorite paintings to date.
