Artist statement
This series is an attempt to foster a discussion on the notions of ephemerality and memory. Memories are also often tied to a very personal touch, hence the subtle figures incorporated into the paintings. Almost like a fog going through the canvas to create an intentional effervescence and ambiguity, the work hopes to bring the viewer to their own fond or distant memories and view them in a new light and angle.
'Lone Slumber' won the public vote award for the Sovereign Art Foundation Students Prize in 2017.
