In Love in the Mist belongs to my “in love” series. The idea of this series budded from my visit to Chinese painting master Wu Guang Zhong’s exhibition in 2010. In this series, I would like to express my profound love for water villages. I include a lot of white and watermarks in them, representing water, water flow, splashes, waves…they are poetic and beautiful. In love in the morning is painted mainly in aqua blue and ivory white, they are very comforting complimentary colors. In a two-dimensional way of presentation of the landscape of Suzhou, such as including abstract forms to represent scholar rocks, water ponds, black and white tiles...I also incorporated a four-dimensional effect by including my daily encounters in the painting. This is my unique way and therefore every painting of mine captures time and memories.
