About the art
Artist statement
This work belongs to my "Black and White" series, although instead of white there is a deep blue, I did not want to use white because the result would have been very contrasted and I wanted a little more tranquility. I play again with space and emptiness, movement and static, but in this work I took weight off the black oval and left it glazes that reveal the background of the canvas and also cause a greater sensation of movement with the concentric lines that are rotating . There are two blocks in blue that frame the main and central figures, one is square but protrudes from the canvas or gives that sensation and points with the vertex towards the black oval causing a tension and below the blue semicircular shape contains an element of form and line black that softens the tension towards the central bodies. First I applied a primer with an earthy metallic pigment to the background to give support, tan color and slight shine and luminosity to the canvas and then I incorporated the corporeal black oval working the texture of the surface with acrylic and pigment, looking for some corporeity and then with charcoal I traced the oval lines and I put part on top of the oval to seek greater interaction, as if those lines were detached from the central black mass and then I worked the composition until I reached the final solution.
The work is sent in a tube. It is a lyrical and minimalist abstract style work.
