About the art
Artist statement
‘Distorted Symbiosis’ is Anoosha’s second exhibition, a series of conceptual charcoal illustrations. She started out to create charcoal sketches as an exploration of the medium. It progressively turned into a set of compositions incorporating natural ?elements such as flora, fauna and sharp-edged forms inspired by Brutalist bareness.
The desire to use contrasting notions of organic versus inorganic was an attempt to ?find unity among them. The denser and broader cities like Bangalore become, the more barren the forests and vegetation.‘Distorted Symbiosis’envisions organic harmony ?between breathing lives and breathless objects found in unexpected places, not least ?on charcoal and paper.
