Artist statement
The dimension listed includes a Plexi Glass frame The plexi is 3/16" greater on all sides of the dimension listed. The profile dimension of the artworks are 2". The artwork is preserved with a UV finish for lasting beauty.
Relationships come and go, romantic or otherwise- either brief or a lifetime. Like how water wears down stone over time- it reveals something new, it reveals truth, it reveals honesty. Each experience carries a beginning and an end- we learn from each of them. I won’t say this is the last in my Refugia series, as I don’t believe that series are forced to end- I believe they certainly can be revisited. Refugia was a response to the pandemic, and Wash Over Me is at the moment a conclusion and at the same time a discovery to anew. My upcoming works which I’m really excited to show this summer are challenging the base of my material in the most difficult ways – along with the introduction of new experimental tools.
