Artist statement
In this series, humans are represented through animal figures and their emotions and intimate impulses are symbolized with the wings that drag and lift them, sprouting from unusual places of their bodies, as usually happens in life when our emotions surprise us and they push us along unknown paths. But each person reacts differently to these impulses, resisting, submitting, denying them etc. My animals also adopt different attitudes to the thrust of their wings and it is their body language that gives us the key to their reactions. In essence this series speaks of us as in a fable without a moral but with a touch of irony that invites us to reflect on what we are versus what we wanted or supposedly should be
