Artist statement
An ironic piece of piscine art in a bespoke 'virtual' frame.
A factory-fresh fish supper for our unnutritional age.
This photograph took almost twenty years to make!
The picture of the can was taken on good old-fashioned transparency film in the UK in the early nineties and the lugubrious fish was captured digitally in Thailand in 2011.
The two images were married in a computer in 2011 and are still together!
The image is printed onto Kodak Metallic paper which perfectly compliments the predominantly silver tones of this contemporary pop art image.
The metallic print is archivally mounted onto a sturdy sheet of aluminium making this print ready to hang on arrival.
Finally, a neutral, clear-cast acrylic sheet is mounted over the print greatly increasing its archival properties and lending a modern, interior design aesthetic to the piece.
