The series utilizes still-life photography to explore the interaction of photography and time as well as the concept of decay and death. These photographs delve into these concepts through the depiction of various objects, ranging from traditional still-life symbols to mundane matters.

Often referencing Vietnamese culture and how time is depicted in photography, my work tries to embrace the act of photographing an object and its character through the changes in vantage point, the changes of the subjects and their places as well as the backgrounds. Photography is a specific medium and the photograph only exists in an instance when it is made. Through the use of diptychs and triptychs, the existence of a photograph is extended while they also present the application of an aesthetic value from South East Asia and Vietnam, which often time seems minimal and direct. Each of the photographs is an intersection for photography and time along with the artistic endeavor of a Vietnamese, whose culture treats death as a foundation, in a Western environment.
