Artist statement
The house in the context of this painting is a representation of the state, which was built on the struggles and sacrifices of the heroes who fought to liberate Indonesia from the shackles of colonialism. But over time, this magnificent house has increasingly become porous with age because its residents can no longer take care of it. Corruption, abuse of power, manipulated laws, discrimination and many more problems are eating away at the foundation pillars of this country. Before things get worse, we must realize that the state and all its elements are one body. If any part of the body becomes sick, the rest of the body will also feel pain. This awareness must bring us into togetherness to work towards a common goal.
