Artist statement
Inspired by the heated political situation ahead of the presidential election in Indonesia in 2019, where two warring factions split society into two. They attacked each other in the mass media and social media, spread false news about each other, and political interests took over the situation to cloud the atmosphere, cause conflict and spread terror. History records that political violence occurred throughout the ages. This work reminds us that basically we are all the same, God's creatures who should respect and support each other to achieve common goals.
