Butterfly No.12 is inspired by Mariah Carey's song "Butterfly".
When asked about where she got the inspiration for "Butterfly", Mariah stated: “Butterfly was about leaving one section of my life and moving on to another.”
A butterfly is primarily associated with symbolism of change and transformation.
A secondary meaning of the butterfly is about finding joy in life, playfulness and lightness of being.
