Artist statement
Healing, from the I Could Be Nothing Series
This series is inspired by and picks up the same name from the song "I Could Be Nothing", by Great Lake Swimmers, which recounts the intimate and eternal relationship —cyclical and repetitive— between the waves and the sand of the sea, where the existence of one would not be possible without the other.
This autobiography represents a catharsis, a review of personal hells, an attempt to recognize and face demons and accept the weakness of the human condition, while imploring serenity, love and redemption.
These pieces want to be a reminder that reality is complex and dynamic and our experiences are portions of a finely interwoven whole.
