These young mountains overlook the Icelandic Highland region's Kerlingarfjöll geothermal volcanic system of hissing fumaroles, spitting hot vents, and steaming geysers. 25-35mph gusts further emphasize the terrestrial orifices from which the Earth spews steam. Crudely embedded steps among these alluring peaks resemble staples suturing a fissured fragile ground.
