Artist statement
"This photograph belongs to the series ""Isolation Games."" At the dawn of 2020, as the world receded into quarantine, our lifestyles were consequently fraught with apprehension. The surreal stillness shifted routines and psychologies across the board. While passing the time at home during isolation, these photographs depict distraction and amusement in a newly-skewed world.
When access to the outdoors limited my daily hikes, a schoche of Spring's anticipation soothes the soul. Hindsight is 20-20 as newly-minted nature-lovers flooded forest trails. Thoughts about prevailing conditions invoked words reflecting my present mood, a cathartic game among collective frustration. A wholesome distraction, a comforting past-time, revisited.
