About the art
Artist statement
One of the first Flux paintings from my series, this painting was on loan for 4 years in the USA and was returned to my London studio last year. I developed the technique of dragging and moving around the paint in layers which require separate drying time so the process is quite lengthy but worth the results as the individual colours remain pure and create a life of their own. There is a combination of fluorescent and metallic colours as well as spray paints so there are areas of heavily built up and blended paint contrasted by lighter translucent paint from the spray paint. I trained as a figurative painter using oil paint and whilst this is perceived as abstract it comes from what I see and experience as an urban city artist.
