About the art
Artist statement
This Index is one of a series that I started around 2012 and have added to over recent years, this is the only one available in the series at present. As with the majority of my art, the concept is strongly connected with my surroundings, the cities I live in and the dynamics of living in a big urban city such as London. Architecture is a great influence and this series particularly has a strong element of linear structure and hard edges as seen in contemporary buildings. The paint is built on layers so that there is depth in distance and plenty of negative space. The series is mostly monochrome with accents of strong pure colour that are subtle from a distance but become more vibrant in detail.
This painting was shown at my solo exhibition at Lever Gallery, Clerkenwell London in October 2018
