About the art
Artist statement
This is my first painting in my Metropolis series which I started in late 2018 and in 2019 had a solo exhibition in central London title Metropolis. This painting is large square format which works well for this style. The title means city and and I am an urban artist living in an area of London with amazing contemporary architecture and skyscrapers which become neon at night. This series is an imagined cityscape which is reduced as far as I can to lines and colours yet retains a feel of architecture at night. The deep blue with orange accents are complimentary colours, it is a limited but vibrant colour palette that works well from a distance and standing close.
