Template Fluorescent Fuchsia

My Template series started around 2014 using a technique I developed from other paintings, which encompasses simplicity and complexity simultaneously. Paint of a specific consistency is mixed so that as I draw with it the flow is thick enough not to spread and thin enough to allow for movement and flow. I have mostly used a pure colour on a painted white canvas of a rectangular format from medium to large size. Recently I have been experimenting with more than one colour and using heavy paper instead of canvas. Some viewers have told me that the shapes remind them of people or writing, a form of abstract calligraphy perhaps? Each piece is unique and done in one session as there is no room for mistake and I have to concentrate and be confident as the paint hits the canvas. I have created several commissions from this series when collectors have requested a specific colour.
