Artist statement
Work entitled "Mystery", direct carving in Cypress wood. It seeks to convey the mystery of what is not seen, of that empty space, where different inlays of color are seen within the work. Sculpture with a Carrara marble base. Hand polished. abstract artwork.
I want the viewer to enjoy the empty space like me. See how the lights and shadows play on its surface.
I am inspired by walking through the forest and contemplating nature itself, its simplicity and beauty.
