Akintomide explores Identity and social cultural themes also his artistic practice delves into the complexities and beauty of human relationships, exploring the intricate patterns of connections that bind us together. Akintomide experiments with various media but currently uses Ink and acrylic on canvas creating captivating figures primarily focusing on portraits and Figuration. Drawing inspiration from his environment, cultural background, family history and personal experiences.
Akintomide explores identity, he captures relatable intimate scenes that seeks to capture the essence of shared human experiences, creating spaces for reflection, contemplation, and connection, inviting viewers to ponder the ways in which relationships form, evolve, and transform us by celebrating the fragility and flexibility of human bonds.
His art acknowledges the power of companionship to heal, support, and inspire. He strive to craft a visual language that resonates with the depth and diversity of human emotion, promoting a sense of community and understanding among his audiences. His figures mostly possesses exaggerated Noses, prompted by years spent being taunted by bullies while growing up.
Akintomide with his unique approach and technique also tries to re-unify non-African fabrics and African fabrics exploring its historical journey, cultural significance and its influences. Through his art, Akintomide explores these themes, providing a unique insight into the African experiences.
