Artist statement
Post-Capitalist art often engages with themes of decay, entropy, and collapse, questioning the sustainability of the systems that capitalism upholds. The "dark featureless void" in the background of the photos suggests a rejection of the optimistic, constructive, and sometimes utopian visions present in Weston’s work. Instead of celebrating pure form, these photographs of decaying flowers emphasize the disintegration of that perfection, with the void symbolizing uncertainty or the absence of a stable future.
