Artist statement
"Sassy As Salt Water Taffy 02"
Summer 2022 is drawing near its completion but that favourite sweet of Darlene's was invented in the 1800s and is widely enjoyed to this day.
The soft and minimal colour which is a newer palette for her is gesturally brushed on the surface.
The ocean floor flooded a boardwalk shop and the taffy was soaked in the sea foam.
During the cleanup, someone asked if there was some taffy for sale and a joke was spoken that we have some salt water taffy. She took it to the beach to share with her friends and the rest is history.
