About the art
Artist statement
My sculptures are abstract, three-dimensional wood compositions painted in bright, vibrant colors and, recently, natural wood finishes using acrylics, enamels and stains. As abstractions they are not meant to represent any one thing. Rather they are an expression of color, form and energy as shapes juxtapose and form unusual and unexpected relationships to each other. I leave it to the viewer to decide what is being communicated and how they choose to interpret the work. They are impossible to ignore in a room due to their size and intense hues. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, padded on the back to protect walls and wired to hang.
