"Infrastructure" is an ongoing series of artwork that explore the complexity, necessity, and importance of critical facilities and systems. Contemplating reliance on public transportation, fire hydrants, internet, roads, highways, architectural structures, commerce, utility systems, etc. are some of the thoughts that have found their way into the series. Each of the works thus far have varied in medium and execution. The most recent are focused on the idea of drawing, asking the questions: "What is drawing? What can a drawing become?”. I’ve been breaking down and exploding aspects of my traditional ink on paper drawings into digital form and then spanning virtual to physical space, blurring lines of what an art object typically is understood to be with the goal in mind to develop scalable variable media mark making. I’m interested in the relentless digitization of life. Human interaction with technology and organic/digital dualities are subjects I remain intrigued with.
