Artist statement
It's dusk, almost night. It is going to be a cold night with no moon and no stars. It seems as though the landscape is frozen dead - everything is immobile. In this landscape, the bright orange glowing Ember Cactus - it is an beacon of warmth and hope. Maybe lost hope? It's warm, light-sustaining fire is also causing it's own demise.
A huge burning cactus depicted in all it's warm, glowing, orange beauty. This painting is impressive - not only through its minimalist idea but also through the splendid execution of the idea. The artist chose a poignant and heavy plant that inspires solidity, stability but also immovable stubbornness that is now transformed into a warm campfire.
A perfect piece to fit in a contemporary residence or office space, "Ember Cactus" is certainly a conversation starter.
The work is sold framed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity dated and signed by the artist. Framed size of the artwork is 156x136x5 cm.
