Artist statement
A vibrant orange background spans across the surface of this canvas - a reminder of what a torrid, hot day in the desert might feel like for the traveler who forgot his water bottle.
On this magnificently colored background, a cactus emerges. Thick, majestic, imposing. Green and fresh, as if to say "I am here to save you". This plant is a symbol of the resistance of nature, the power of survival through adaptation and evolution.
