Artist statement
This painting represents a state of mind. This state of mind is that of creative focus. Looking carefully at the roof garden, the artist delights in using a thick layer of paint to load the canvas until it becomes a heavy, dense, multilayered agglomeration of shapes.
The painting started with a gradient layer of green and yellow; very thick. On this layer, the artist started by painting dabs of color and then, after letting them dry off, came back to the garden to observe the plants and surroundings.
The poetry of a roof garden is a magic moment that only exists when one looks at it.
