Artist statement
As you get close to this painting, you can observe the power that radiates outwards. Thick brush strokes create ridges and valleys ascending upwards through the canvas - a geography of color that conveys the effort, the struggle of the artist to achieve harmony between contradicting emotions.
This piece was created in the artists’ studio in northern France.
