About the art
Artist statement
This beautiful piece was created in the artists’ studio in northern France and is based on the spectacular cactus series that is so dear to the artist. With incessant optimism and a strong desire to bring color into this world through his work, Virtosu's cactus collection continues to explore visually intriguing painting techniques so as to push the boundaries of what is possible.
The certainty of this painting is that it conveys movement, continuous vibration, the kind of motion that one would find when thought and emotion are perfectly aligned into a uniform creative wave: the Flow. This is emphasized through application of pigment in the clear epoxy resin coating of the painting - an effect that creates a vibrating shimmer on the canvas and exudes mystery through its depth.
