Artist statement
This artwork plays with contrasts between opacity and transparency. The layers of material, applied in a process of overlapping, partially reveal filigree patterns underneath. Inspired by elements from nature, it explores the balance between structure and spontaneity. The use of oil pastels and natural pigments creates vibrant and luminous tones while preserving a sense of subtlety and softness throughout the composition. The interplay of textures and colors invites a closer examination, highlighting the delicate balance achieved in the layering process.
