About the art
Artist statement
Ebuka Pascal is an artist deeply fascinated by the mutual relationship between man and plant, which ignites in him a heightened consciousness towards his environment. From a young age, he has been intrigued by the intricate interplay between these two entities, fueling his desire to explore and emphasize the importance of sustaining these relationships. This deep connection became the driving force behind his creative expression, leading him to create what he believes to be a perfect visual representation of life.
As an artist, Ebuka perceives himself as a mirror, and he sees his works as a visual reflection of his subjective view of the world, shaped by both past and present events. His exploration of the connection between man and plant has profoundly influenced his creativity, enabling him to express himself with absolute confidence and genuine authenticity.
The primary focus of his work encompasses significant social challenges such as gender equality, racism, colorism, tribalism, and societal neglect. Through his art, Ebuka seeks to rejuvenate the consciousness of his viewers, prompting reflection and encouraging conversations aimed at addressing these critical societal issues. His intention is to provoke thought and inspire change, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and thoughtful world.
