About the art
Artist statement
This ink drawing is part of a series on the theme of body and mind I have created for the Brixton Buddhist community "Life with full attention" course app.
Ink has become my favourite medium. As with watercolour I work here with unpredictability and risk. These two factors require of the artist total presence but also a sense of openness to whatever comes up.
Art making then becomes a sort of playful dialogue between the mind and what is happening.
This drawing has been made on heavily textured 300 gsm Fabriano paper. The beautiful texture of this paper adds to the misty feeling achieved by the use of the wet in wet technique in this series.
This drawing was made on reused paper that has an unused illustration on the back.
