Artist statement
This work is inspired by Nat King Cole's popular song, "Autumn Leaves". During the dry season, a lot of leaves turn red and fall. Like autumn, perhaps. The colour of the leaves is warm, tinged between the fallen and the new shoots. The colours are depicted with the impasto technique using oil paints. It is rich in colour and the depth can be felt. The marbling results of the technique and the medium used turn this painting into an eye candy.
