Artist statement
The Striated Vortex Vessel combines a twisting shape and interwoven colors of stoneware clay to evoke a sense of movement and strength found in the natural world. It is a one-of-a-kind piece built and shaped by hand from colored coils of clay. The intricately woven colors can be seen on both the inside and the outside of this unglazed vase.
